On Monday night, Brett Favre proved once again that he is among the best QBs in the National Football League; Aaron Rodgers, not so much, despite throwing for 384 yards.
If Favre were to write the script himself, I don’t know how it could have gone better for the Vikings quarterback.
Favre had his first three-TD game in his last 15 or so. He hooked up with just about everyone on the night, including rookie Percey Harvin. Favre-to-Harvin does have a certain ring to it. And so far this season, that bell has been rung a few times.
Rodgers, by contrast, tossed interceptions and was sacked in the end zone for a safety.
Granted, the protection wasn’t the same. Favre seemed to have all day in the pocket on some plays.
Favre’s passer rating in the game was 142: That’s pretty good.
Favre became the only NFL player to defeat all 32 teams. That’s also pretty good.
The Minnesota Vikings are now 4-0, and that’s pretty good.
Do you suppose Green Bay regrets letting him go?
Prediction: Look for the Vikings to go to 5-0 next week vs. St Louis.
