I don’t think there’s much question of Tim Tebow returning to the field soon.
My question is: Should he?
What is the sense of risking further injury? Tebow is doubtful to play quarterback as a pro and as an H-back, he’s a second- or third-round pick.
Does his stock rise if he breaks Hershel Walker’s record for career college rushing TDs? I doubt it.
The Jagaurs have already expressed an interest and Tim would no doubt sell some season tickets there. So he’s like a college senior who already sort of has a job lined up. Why cram for finals?
He already has all the trinkets you win at the NCAA level. What does he need with more jewelry? He probably doesn’t wear the championship rings that he already owns.
This was supposed to Tebow’s year to show he could be an NFL-type drop-back passer.
The problem is that that’s not really his game and even against inferior opponents, Tebow hasn’t put up such big passing numbers. This quarterback’s strength is his ability to tuck it under and take off.
I bet he comes back, perhaps after the bye week for LSU, but perhaps it would be wiser to wait a year before returning to the gridiron.
