Georgia in the hunt, start run in Oklahoma

College football Georgia bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs are the other team in the SEC East that has a chance to make a run for a National Championship this year.

It will all come down to who wins in Jacksonville and or Stillwater. If the Bulldogs manage to upset the Team That Must Not Be Named, they will find themselves squarely in the title hunt in November.

Georgia is again loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. They are fast and they are deep.

A team like the Bulldogs has a puncher’s chance to beat anyone on any given Saturday.

The Bulldogs are returning a host of starters. Among the most  notable of these are Rennie Curran (5’11”,222 lbs) at weakside linebacker. He is the top returning tackler in the SEC.

Other notables giving the Dawgs a solid presence up front are Kade Weston (6’5”, 320) and Geno Atkins  (6’1”, 290).

The schedule is tough for UGA. In 2009, Georgia will play three non-conference games against teams from BCS conferences, becoming the first from the SEC to do that since the 12th game was added in 2006.

They open their season in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on September 5.

I predict the Dawgs will take it on the road by a TD.
