Vick starts on road to redemption

This Sunday, Michael Vick will be allowed to take the field for the first time since serving his prison sentence.

I, for one, hope he succeeds.

I know for some people he can never be redeemed. They decry his treatment of animals. So be it.

I think it’s ironic, though, that nobody decries the inhumane treatment of human beings on the football field.

I would venture to guess that Vick cared more for his puppies than most NFL owners do for their players.

I know he put dogs down, but truly this is the case of every dog owner I have ever known. Putting animals down is one of the hardest thing to do.

So Vick did a crime and now he has done his time. Doesn’t he deserve to get on with his life? Shouldn’t the animal rights people get on with theirs, too?

Now Vick finds himself in Philadelphia: The City of Brotherly Love, renowned for its hospitality and genteel manners. They will show him forgiveness. (If he can help get them to a Superbowl)

I’m thinking Vick could make an impact this weekend.

Prediction: Look for Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles to beat the Kansas City Chiefs by 3.
